From Rumours to “True-mours” – Nithya Shanti

Something I share in my “Happiness Joyshops” that always touches everyone’s heart:

“True-mour” – A word I coined, means “spreading rumours based on love & truth”. It involves saying what you love, admire & appreciate about a person BEHIND his back. Sooner or later the person will hear the Truemour (its more reliable than email!) and feel wonderful!

Starting a truemour about a person we don’t get along with is the easiest way to heal the relationship. Be honest in sharing what you appreciate in the person behind his/her back. It is bound to get to them before long. It will transform the entire relationship!

This is the perfect antidote to gossip and negative rumours that create havoc in our lives! It is one of the easiest, fastest, most reliable ways to instantly shift the energy in a family, work place or community to trust and goodwill.

Would you like to try this?

Think of someone in your life that you’d like to “truemour-tize” … think of 2-3 good qualities you see in them (everyone one has SOME redeeming quality!) and then casually mention these qualities to people who know them.

Here are some examples:
” I really admire Mike’s attention to detail in everything he does” ;
“Rajeev has an ability to make even the most difficult problem appear tiny”;
“Martha’s presence always brightens the room!”

To spread true-mours at every opportunity in my life has been a wonderful lesson in happiness. One of simplest and most profound as well!
